Our appellate advocacy team is comprised of individuals who have prosecuted and defended numerous appeals involving varying issues before the Rhode Island Supreme Court, and other appellate tribunals.  Appeals are an important part of our legal system and are in many instances considered an extension of litigation matters.

Once a hearing or trial has taken part in your matter, the adjudicator (i.e. judge, jury, hearing officer, magistrate, etc.) will render a decision.  If a decision is not rendered in your favor, you may have certain rights under the law to file an appeal.  In most instances, the time to appeal is fairly short, and it is of the utmost importance that you obtain legal counsel immediately, if you have not done so already.

When looking for an appellate advocacy team, you should be sure to find a team who:

  • Is comprised of experience litigators who have the knowledge to determine what issues are appealable, and the best means to pursue the appeal;
  • Is comfortable dealing with the difficult questions which the appellate judicial panel may pose; and
  • Has acquired the legal research and writing skills to write a concise, yet persuasive, brief in support of your appeal.

This is exactly what you can expect from our team at C. Reilly Law.
